Continuous test run on test rig – non-stop protocoling

Corresponding to the transmission design, VDS derives a matching test program with quasi-static and dynamic tests. Stepped speed/torque programs are often prescribed cyclically. All relevant specimen and test bench data are continuously monitored, protocolled and compared to the limits – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...

Vehicle integration – merging to a whole

VDS installs the complete drive train in the vehicle and completes the required electrical and mechanical adaptations. Electrical wiring can be designed on the 3D-model and integrated as preassembled wiring harness. Prototype vehicles are equipped with measuring devices and a display to enable testing during test drives.

Software application – preliminary and field experience

From the requirements definition to the test cases to the simulation – the first software validation occurs already in the development phase. With the first prototype, the simulation results are verified at the functional testing bench and the acquired knowledge is fed into the software models. This phase employs series-ready control devices, sensors and actuators. The closing phase occurs in the field, with final software validation in the vehicle in close cooperation with the testing department.

Field testing – ready for off-road

Before release for field testing, VDS tests the exact functionality of the transmission and vehicle control software. Continuous testing in the field supports further development of the software and validation of the drive train and on to precise auditing of the transmission.
